Dad- His ankle seems to be getting stronger and stronger, which I think for him means hopefully he'll be able to go play some golf soon.
Mom- Got to move her job HOME!!! She's been waiting for this since January. Now she's just got to get her office all tweaked and setup to make it the most comfortable that she can.
BrieAnn, Brad, and Christian- Christian's newest feat is pulling himself up-to everything he is a master at it. B&B are just the same, keeping life going and glad it's finally getting warmer outside.
Michael-see latest e-mail, or the last post.
Kimberly- Keeping busy with Hair School and High School. She recently got accepted to BYU-Idaho! And her older sister is so excited that someone else in the family might head up to Rexburg.
Candice- Made it to state in an individual event and some relays for swimming. She is running for student council, VP of Activities!
Andrew- Enjoying 7th grade, and counting down the days to his 13th birthday!
Joshua- Glad that is getting warmer and closer and closer to school being over for the summer.
Well there is a nutshell over view.

Hola familia y amigos,
Creo que les voy a escribir en espaƱol hoy dia, espero que me puedan entender... haha no just kidding im not gonna write you in spanish, but i have been practicing lately because i realized that i can speak a lot better than i can write.... So not a whole lot is new here in sin city with me. My companion and i had a pretty good week, we have really started to help the members get involved in missionary work. This week we are planning on doing divisions every other day and im pretty excited about it. i remember the first time my companion made me do divisions with members and i was so scared, now im talking my companion into doing them haha wow its so crazy to look back and see how much i have progress as a missionary. So im kinda stumped in what i should write about... we are still working with the the rodriguez family of 7 and they are progressing like they were in the beggining. i think thats one of the worst things as a missionary, when you see investigators that are making so much progress and there testimonies start to go and then a trial comes that hurts there progress. Thats where we are at with the rodriquez family, they have come up against a trial and instead of strengthing themselves and overcoming it, they have decided to lay down and rest. Its pretty tough to watch as a missionary cuz we really grow to love these people like our own family. ill keep you informed on how they are doing. patricio and andrea are also working with a few trials right now and they are progressing, we are just waiting for their marriage now... it seems like we might be doing somethin the the chaple in the new future for there reception so that should be fun! well thanks for listening, i hope and pray that all is well with you all! thanks for all your love and support!

Dear Family and Friends,
Ok so this was a pretty good week, I'll start out by telling you the good news that jose and manuelita got married this past week and all went well with that! Although jose didn’t get baptized last Saturday, he has a date for this Saturday. He had problems with work because there was a riot here on the bridge and the people that lived on that side of the bridge weren’t able to go to work so he had to work on Saturday but everything is set for him this weekend!
So president just called my companion like 5 minutes ago to tell him that he is gonna be the next district leader here in Aysen and that I'm leaving to Los Lagos. Its somewhere close to Osorno. And that’s all I know right now so I'll let you know more details next week. I'm kinda sad to leave but I'm also excited as well seeing that I only know Coyhaique and haven’t really seen any other part of chile. Well see how much I like it. I hear its like really really hot there so well see. I have no clue on my companion but I'm hoping that its someone from southern America cuz my companion and I have been speaking pure English the past week or so and its really effecting my abilities. So this week wasn’t very eventful other than the already mentioned items…so I have like no time today cuz we went and played soccer and had a big activity in Coyhaique cuz its our last p day of the transfer so thanks for all your love and support! Seriously thank you so much I love you all and I miss you!

Dear Friends and Family,
So looks like i have finally found a way to relay my emails to you. Sorry that I haven’t been able to do that for the past month… Anyway so this week was probably our best week here in Aysen. It was just one of those weeks where everything just worked out. We just received blessing after blessing this week I cant really even explain it all.
One of the blessing that im most excited about happened this morning, we just got back from the “registro civil” with jose and manuelita. They are going to get married this wed and seeing that everything goes right, jose will be getting baptized this Saturday! We are so excited for jose, he has come to church every week without fail (except maybe once) since his last attempt at getting married. So we are praying that the blessings will continue to shower us this week and that everything will all work out smoothly and jose will be able to make covenants with the lord this weekend and receive the great gift of the holy ghost! Ill kee you updated on the situation.
So this is the last week of this transfer and im not excited for it to end. My companion and I are getting along great and we are loving the time we have been given to serve here in aysen. Im not totally sure but I imagine that I will be leaving after this transferring seeing that I have served my entire mission in the coyhaique zone. Im not really looking forward to leaving, but im excited to serve where ever the lord calls me to serve. Everyday im going to love chile more and more and I cant imagine serving anywhere else.
So funny story really quick, so this week we went and contacted a less active family in the ward (one of the 4000 people) and the family consists of a 65 year old mom, a 30 year old son that is a member and has a testimony and then a 25 year old son (non member) that right now is in trouble with the law but wants to change his life. So we taught them a great lesson and they are looking forward to reactiving themselves in the church. Anyway so as we were leaving, we shook there hands and said good by and I shook the old womans hand but she wouldn’t release her grip. She just continued to grip my hand as she started talking to me. And here is a direct quote from this woman “quiero casarme contigo” in English “I want to get married to you” so after about 2 or 3 minutes of struggling to get away and listening to her say more things of that nature, I was finally able to break free. im kinda terrified to return to that house again! But it was kinda funny, my companion and I still laugh about it.
Well thanks for all your love and support. I love you all and I hope your all doing great!

Dear family and friends,
So if you havent noticed, i guess ive been having some dificulties with emailing lately... Seems like none of my emails have been recieved. Because of this, i dont really have the drive to write anything, knowing that it probably wont be recieved or read... hopefully my efforts wont be in vain. Ill keep it short cuz im also sending my email from the last 2 weeks as well.
So we had zone conference this week. It was great! I was just sitting there listening to President Lovell teach, and i realized “hey i understand every single word he is saying” and shortly after an elder made a comment and again i though “he im not missing a word!” it was a great, i was just sitting there listening (i dont know if i translate in my head still or if i just like understand, when i talk i pretty much have to like translate, but even sometimes i just find myself saything things in spanish without thinking.) Anyway it was just an awesome experience because like i litterally didnt miss a word!
Zone conference was great! I really learned a lot and how i can better serve the lord and the people here in puerto aysen. I would like to share with you something that president lovell told me in our interview that has really made me think and change my outlook as a missionary. We were talking about sacrifice and consecration. He told me to not look at my mission as a sacrifice but make it an offering to the lord. This has really made me look at my mission differently the last couple days. I mean im not saying that my whole mission ive just been thinking of it as a sacrifice but i cant say i havent. Missionaries sacrifice a lot of things making the decision to serve the lord. Ive been trying to put those thoughts behind me and focusing on offering everything i have to the lord or in other words consecrating my time here as a missionary. I know its not an easy task, but just in the last couple days i have seen a change in my attitude and desire to serve. I dont really think i described my thoughts and feelings very well just barely but i hope that you are able to get the main idea.
Im doing really well here in Aysen, my companion and i are getting along great and we both working towards the same thing, building and edifying the kingdom.
So i just read some emails that i got, dad i cant believe you broke your leg, in 2 PLACES!!! Wow sounds like that must be a huge trial. I hope and pray that you are doing alright!
Thanks for all your love and support! I love you all, and if there is anything i can do for you just let me know.

Dear Family and Friends,
Hey so im doing really good here in Aysen, It still cloudy and rainy everyday and im loving it! I haven’t really had much of a problem with my allergies every since that terrible week about a month ago. Im so blessed to be out here in aysen and to have all this rain!
So this week my companion and I had to work really hard because we weren’t able to work on wed and Thursday due to the fact that Chilean people love to drink… We tried to stay productive during those 2 days and visited members and less active families. The members here are in Aysen are great and they were very welcoming during these holiday seasons and they made us feeled loved and at home, We ate so much food this week cuz everybody wouldn’t let us leave without eating we possibly could.
We had a really great week though, we committed jose to baptism again and him and manuelita are supposed to be going to the registro civil (I don’t know what it would be in English… maybe like city center or something) anyway they are going to get a marriage date again and they are gonna get married! I pray that this time it goes a lot smoother and everything works out! Jose is such a great guy and he is so excited for his baptism!
This week we focused a lot in finding new investigators and helping the less active members go to church. We figured it was a good week to motivate the less active members to go to church and start the year out on the right foot! Well our hard work paid off and we had more less active members at church this week than we have ever had here in aysen! Reactivating members is one of my favorite things to do out here, most of them just need a little encouragement and they are more than happy to go to church! Unfortunately the branch here in aysen isn’t really strong enough to continuely support the people here with visiting teaching so reactivating members and keeping them active kinda falls on our shoulders and we don’t have the time that these people need, we are trying to work with the ward members more to get them more involved in this great work and its definitely a work in progress. I don’t remember if I told you but there are roughly 16000 people here in aysen and about 2000 to 4000 (ive heard all sorts of numbers in that range) members here in aysen.
We found 3 new families to teach this week and we are really excited for them. Finding families is like the pride and joy of being a missionary and we were blessed enough to find 3!!! They are all great and really excited to learn, one of them actually ASKED US if SHE could go to church! We usually have to plead with people to go to church and she ASKED US!!! Finding new investigators is like one of my favorite things to do! It is one of the more difficult and tiring things that we do because as you can imagine its not to fun to get rejected door after door but I cant even explain the awesome feelings I get when someone lets us in for the first time.> So my companion and I are getting along really well, everyday im starting to speak more and more English but my Spanish is still really progressing somehow, we try to only speak English in the house but sometimes we still do in the streets! We contacted someone in the street the other day and just jokingly I said I was from chile cuz he made some kind of joke about gringos and the guy actually believed me! i then told him im from utah but for like 2 minutes he totally believed me! that doesn’t really happen much cuz usually people can tell right off that im from the united states because of my American accent but hey im improving!
Well thanks for all your love and support, I look forward to hearing from you every week! I love you all!

Elder davis,
Ps I just started reading the book of mormon again this morning and im looking for someone that would like to race or something, any takers? Keep in mind that im reading in Spanish and that it takes me longer than normal to read! Let me know! I imagine nobody is gonna respond but im serious! I promise it will bless your life! Reading the book of mormon daily is one of the best decisions I have ever made and I encourage you all to do it! I promise you that it will bless your life in more ways than you will ever know! I feel terrible that I didn’t really take advantage of this blessing very well before I entered the mtc, don’t make the same mistake I did, start reading today!

December 29th Weekly E-mail
Dear Family and Friends,
Hey everybody, so I hope you all had a good Christmas! My Christmas went by pretty well. They celebrate Christmas a little differently here in chile but it didn’t really affect me much because we weren’t really aloud to join in with the celebrations because it was after our curfew… here in chile they start celebrating at about 10 pm on Christmas eve and they have a big dinner and then they open up presents later and then stay up and party till like 3 in the morning. So elder Wohlfahrt and I got together with the other 2 elders in our district here in aysen and we had our own little Minnie party on Christmas eve and then again on Christmas. It was definitely a different experience for me to celebrate Christmas in chile but it was pretty good all the same. The best Christmas present though was being able to call home and talk with my family. This Christmas I really realized how much I love and appreciate my family. So this week was really good, it was so nice to be able to get some rest this week on Christmas and Christmas Eve. My companion and I worked really hard this week though to try and make up for the 2 days that we missed, we have been focusing on finding some new investigators here though because it seems that we have gotten all our investigators to the point of baptism but they have fear of just making the commitment and doing it. This has been something that has happened quite frequently with me in the little time I have been here in chile. They know its true and they know its something they need to do but they just don’t want to commit. Usually it has something to do with the fact that they are doing something in their life that they don’t want to give up even though they know they should. We are doing our best to help them and ill keep you updated on how they are doing. Although im not really gonna mention names and things until after there baptisms just cuz so many things happen and it would be kinda hard to keep you all up to speed and I imagine it would just get pretty confusing. So you might be wondering how things are going with Elder Wohlfahrt and I. well its going great! We are getting along great and we are working hard. The only problem is that ive started to speak a lot more English than I would like to. We have set some good goals and things and hopefully we will be able to keep them. Its so hard to only speak in Spanish. I am having more fun though than I was in my first 3 transfers and I contribute that to being able to speak English. I love the Spanish language and im so glad im hear in chile and that I have this opportunity to learn Spanish but I just have to tell you how much I love English!!! I guess you don’t really realize how much you love something until you lose it, and being able to communicate 100% of what I want to say is something I have been missing for the past 4 months. So the weather here in aysen is still perfect! Its about 70 degrees or so and it rains quite frequently! My allergies haven’t really given me a problem since I last wrote you about them and that has been such a blessing. Although my companion hates the weather, we are able to work at 100% and give our all everyday! I have learned to love this gospel so much more than I ever thought I would and I still have so much more to learn!! We are all so blessed to have the gospel in our lives! Thanks for all your love and support! I love you all and I miss you!
