Jan 19th Weekly Letter

Dear Friends and Family,

So looks like i have finally found a way to relay my emails to you. Sorry that I haven’t been able to do that for the past month… Anyway so this week was probably our best week here in Aysen. It was just one of those weeks where everything just worked out. We just received blessing after blessing this week I cant really even explain it all.

One of the blessing that im most excited about happened this morning, we just got back from the “registro civil” with jose and manuelita. They are going to get married this wed and seeing that everything goes right, jose will be getting baptized this Saturday! We are so excited for jose, he has come to church every week without fail (except maybe once) since his last attempt at getting married. So we are praying that the blessings will continue to shower us this week and that everything will all work out smoothly and jose will be able to make covenants with the lord this weekend and receive the great gift of the holy ghost! Ill kee you updated on the situation.

So this is the last week of this transfer and im not excited for it to end. My companion and I are getting along great and we are loving the time we have been given to serve here in aysen. Im not totally sure but I imagine that I will be leaving after this transferring seeing that I have served my entire mission in the coyhaique zone. Im not really looking forward to leaving, but im excited to serve where ever the lord calls me to serve. Everyday im going to love chile more and more and I cant imagine serving anywhere else.

So funny story really quick, so this week we went and contacted a less active family in the ward (one of the 4000 people) and the family consists of a 65 year old mom, a 30 year old son that is a member and has a testimony and then a 25 year old son (non member) that right now is in trouble with the law but wants to change his life. So we taught them a great lesson and they are looking forward to reactiving themselves in the church. Anyway so as we were leaving, we shook there hands and said good by and I shook the old womans hand but she wouldn’t release her grip. She just continued to grip my hand as she started talking to me. And here is a direct quote from this woman “quiero casarme contigo” in English “I want to get married to you” so after about 2 or 3 minutes of struggling to get away and listening to her say more things of that nature, I was finally able to break free. im kinda terrified to return to that house again! But it was kinda funny, my companion and I still laugh about it.

Well thanks for all your love and support. I love you all and I hope your all doing great!

Ok los amo adios

Love

Elder davis
